........visit or stay away from.

Orleagian Snowballs has become a quasi-meeting spot for New Orleanians and all the things we represent and love, but we are closed for the season. I wanted to create a way to remain a resource to you all, so we will utilize this blog.

Sometimes I am able to communicate the many events and openings that I am asked to note, but sometimes I am not. So I am going to start acknowledging some of the places I was made aware of, some I have tried and other I have not, but I want to hear about places you visited also. We all like to share VERY good and VERY bad experiences so once I make it to the many New Orleans, Creole, or Cajun restaurants I am advised of I will post my experience and perhaps you will do the same.

Also please feel free to include events, businesses, products, restaurants and venues that you think would be valued or operated by New Orleanians. Remember: New Orleanians are RESPECTFULLY opinionated, but please note very honestly opinionated. So, if you visited a place that is good by your standard or want to see what is good by ours leave a post. Communicate your thoughts with the many natives of New Orleans, the people who miss it, and those who love it.

Copeland’s of New Orleans:
I know, I know, its not a HIDDEN gem, but it has one…..Spinach & Artichoke Dip.
I went there practically every Sunday (Our busiest day of business) after work for this delicious appetizer. Its not ordinary S&A dip, it is made with fried bow tie pasta, that if eaten alone is fantastic, but topped with the dip it is second to none.

Did you see what happened yesterday in New Hampshire? New Hampshire showed everyone that voting is still in the hands of the people. I will not share my political ideology, just yet, but I will say from a leadership and goal attainment perspective that Hillary did exactly what she needed to do to connect with the people.

We all know that Hillary probably began dreaming about the Presidency right after mumbling the words "Ma...ma or "Da...Da." It takes a strong inner passion, confidence, ambition, and intelligence to even mutter the words 'I want to be the first Female or African-American President' and actually pursue it, so why not let that life long passion show?

Sincere passion and genuine enthusiasm can never hurt (unless you are Howard Dean-what a railroad that was) so why not let down your facades and "Do You!" Well, Hillary "Did Her" after years of calculated moves and orchestrated steps she finally became confident (or exhausted)  enough to trust her years of preparation and let the reason she wants to be president outshine the mechanics of how to become president and in less than 48 hours New Hampshire confirmed her risk. …………Or was she going to win anyway?

We understand that some Atlantans still don't know the difference between snowballs and snowcones. Orleagian Snowballs has had a presence in the big ATL for almost 2 years now, and we’re happy to educate folks daily about the differences!

Snowballs originated in the great city of New Orleans, and have been a treat that locals have enjoyed on hot summer days since the beginning of the 20th century.

Orleagian Snowballs consist of finely shaved and tightly packed ice, topped with your choice of over 30 handmade flavored syrups. Our snowballs can be enjoyed with either a straw or a spoon, or a combination of both. The superior softness of the ice is conducive to both means of enjoying!

On the other hand, snowcones are made from coarser chunks of ice and must be eaten (or crunched) with a spoon. Some customers have told us that once they've had a snowball, they can never go back to snowcones, because they're just not as satisfying! Well, our opinion may be biased, but we agree!

Tell us about your experiences with snowballs vs. snowcones... we'd love to hear about it! Also, if you're one of few who has a preference for snowcones... well, you just better come visit one of our locations so we can have the opportunity to change your mind!

Enjoy your summer with an Orleagian Snowball today!
